This is for my daughter Rhiannas birthday, she wanted this cake from one of the Carol Deacon books, she would not let me adapt it in any way, it had to be all the same colours ,but I got away with adding a coller and a name tag!!!!the only problam I had was getting liquorice bootlaces (don't seem to do them anywhere anymore) so I got red ones and painted them with food colouring!!!

I'm having a bit of a dry spell with cakes at the minute, think i will have to start doing some serious advertising

Thanks all, have you tried putting cards up in schools and playgroups Victoria, and have you got business cards? if you have always have some in your bag and give them to anyone and everyone. I always think word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Haven't gone there myself yet as I think I need more experience, but would like to one day.

Lovely, your modelling is always so good. Must've taken ages to paint the bootlaces though!

Haven't posted much recently as my dad died in January and then my mum broke a rib so its not been an easy time. Still been making cakes but have not had time to post them so here they are, hope you like them The choc one was for my sons birthday and I used a patchwork cutter for the guitar, the large guitar was on a 30"x14" cake drum this was for his party , it was very heavy and difficult to carry but we managed to get it to the venue in one piece!!

love the guitar, Julie...the board looks huge!!! Like the idea of just covering the corners of the board...looks really effective...
and really sorry to hear about your dad...and your mum's rib, hope she's feeling better now.

I will have a go but cant think how it will turn out.

The glitter sounds like a good idea, not heard of moon beam dust and cannot get anywhere to get some before Saturday, but i will bear it in mind for another time, can you tell me the best way to apply glitter?, i usually sprinkle it on but end up with big splats every where, yours always looks so neat and tidy!!! thanks

I do just sprinkle it on ..just make sure your hands are dry properly first..if not then it can go on abit clumpy.....
