Those are great! They look so professional, you should start a little business (if you haven't already that is!)

no i haven't just doing them at the moment for friends and family .Ive only done about 8 all together, but i haven't done any piping yet hence the cut out lettering on my cakes my hand just starts to shake as soon as i go near the cake with a nozzle .i thought i might start on a cut out plaque then if you ruin it its easier to cut out a new one .I would also love to do my own flowers etc . any suggestions for a good all round instruction DVD

heres my barbie cake ive just finished .I had a real nightmare with this one don,t you get days when nothing goes right? the 1st cake stuck. the second cake didn't cook in the middle of the doll mould and scorched on the outside .this was 3rd time lucky and then I,d decorated the doll pick ready to go in and dropped it breaking all the icing( i think i should charge £100 for this one all the effort) ive put her in the box and im not going to look at her again untill she gets picked up tomorrow.he he.I think its when i know they are for someone else other than family .

Oh i've had a few of those too. So relieved once they're finished!
You're cakes are lovely. How do you get such lovely rounded edges on all of them?
I always used to use the cut out letters but once I started piping, I never looked back. Some cakes suit the cut outs so I use the cookie cutter one's I have, not the one's you have to bang on the side of the counter to try and get the letters out.
I don't know of any dvds but there are some lovely books out there. Have a look at a bookshop like Borders and then buy them on ebay or amazon where they are a lot cheaper.
Shianne :-)

I should think they'll be delighted with it. Your cakes are beautifully finished off, how do you get the surfaces so smooth?

just with my hands rubbed in icing sugar and polish in little circular movements i cant use a polisher i always end up denting it im not very good piping well i can do it but not on the cake im too nervous incase i ruin it so ive just tried these alphabet cutters today.must admit took me ages and found them difficult to get out
