That seems very cheap Nauseen - are you sure you're not pricing yourself unfairly? Have you checked out what the competitors in your area are charging? I'm sure if you're undercharging you'd get less business as people would assume you weren't as good, and your cakes are really lovely. I think that man has a colossal nerve asking you to reduce the price again? What have you decided to do?

Julie Particularly liked the gold cake with the crimping and lettering - lovely.
Nauseen Get youself a set of FMM alphabet cutters. Roll the flowerpaste very thinly, dust with cornflour, cut your letter and 'tap' it out. Instructions are included with the sets. Make loads at the same time and they keep forever. Something to do when nothing else to do! Give them a rub of white fat and dust with gold - or perhaps Julie has other suggestions?

ALso why does the writing have to be in chocolate its not like its for taste..........if its just normal writing on top of something just use royal icing .........and colour it with yellow paste or even mix with the golden ginger..hmm will have to try that myself see how it mixes up...interesting.....

I have a good local supplier who gives me a discount - so sorry Ali! Most of my colours are either Squires Kitchen or Sugarflair. Gold is SK light gold or antique gold and yellow is sunflower.

Nauseen
You're as bad as me - I impulse buy then forget what I've got. The FMM alphabets are blue plastic if that helps. Hubby had a look in my drawers(!) at the weekend when he was hoovering - treated him to a new one - very macho - and he was horrified at the amount of stuff I've collected. I just compared it to his power tools which never see the light of day but he 'must have'. Anyway, have we no work to do today? I really must go and do some before my boss gets back.
