Cake dummies - how do I coat in fondant?

Hello

I've been asked to make a 2-tier wedding cake but only the bottom cake will be a real fruit cake and the top tier will be a dummy, how do I make the sugarpaste stick to the dummy?

Any advice would be really appreciated.
