I think that's really good for a first attempt...I certainly wouldn't like to try it...well done!

thanks victoria i cheated with the alloys in the end my local mini dealer had a booklet and can you believe it had stick on different alloys to show what your real mini could look like and they are the perfect size (he he) any way will try if there is a next time to do them with calcyx cutter and paint them but was getting a bit stressed with them yesterday .and guess what the bloomin birthday girls poorly (got the trots) nothing to do with my cake cos we havent, eaten it yet but looks like ill have too .

the cake might hold without freezing till next week but it would be boarder line.....once a cake is iced in fondant you cannot freeeze it cos the icing when it thaws will sweat and it will ruin it...the only way is to take all the fondant off the cake freeze it and redecorate......I know thats not what you wanted to hear..sorry....
If anyone else knows different please let us know but that is what I have been informed

lovely. What a difficult shape to do, a mini is so distinctive but you got it just right. Did you eat the cake without your daughter in the end or save it for when she came back?

well i threw caution to the wind and froze it ,its only for us to eat when she gets back, everyone else that mattered saw it before she went so im just going to defrost it and cut it up when she gets back so it doesn,t really matter if the icing marks a bit (he he ) ill let you know how it defrosts after monday.
