Thanks Nauseen! I'm trying to get around to sorting out the website but unfortunately time is limited, especially with all the orders I'm getting at the moment.

Thanks very much!
I've actually started turning away orders (which I hate doing!) but I need to because with my daughter and her eczema keeping her, and us, up most the night, I can't cope with more. I'm so tired that if I did more cakes nothing else would get done.
I kept thinking about you Rach with your car. Mine is not as good as I thought it might turn out to be but it's ok and the lady was very happy with it.
Which board are you talking about Rach? The car board?

yep and in general I tend to work to a 14 inch board round or square and for like the tigger cake etc I wok on an 18 inch boards..its hard to tell a size just by the piccie..when I was trying to do the car I was working on a 20inch rectangular board..not that it ever made it onto that..lol

Shianne
Sorry to hear life is not too good for you just now, hopefully you'll get back on track soon. Concentrate on your family - far more important than any cake and try not to let your little girl pick up on your stress (hard I know) and perhaps her eczema will calm down a bit. No doubt you've tried everything, but I'm about to start a holistic therapies and stress management course (full-time, finally gave up sitting behind a desk!), so if there's anything you want to find out about, ask away and I'll check it out at the college.
Best wishes
Marjorie

Thank you so much Marjorie. Luckily I'm quite a calm person but it's just hard finding energy with the lack of sleep. We're trying a cream at the moment which has worked wonders for others. I've seen the before and after photos and how successful it has been so I'm hoping we'll get the same result. I must say that I've been using it on my daughter's forehead, ears and neck and it already seems to be working. I will definitely keep in mind what you have said and if it doesn't work then I'll let you know and see what we can do.

Hi Shianne All your cakes are all wonderful, I really like the shape on the power rangers cake. How did you do the actual rangers? Sorry to hear about your daughters eczema and I can sympathize with you has i have suffered with it for years and have tried many different creams and at one point was made to drink a pint of goat's milk a day as my mother was told this would help to clear it, but this didn't work either. The best cream I have ever used is Betnovate, but it is a steroid cream and would probably be a bit harsh for your daughters delicate skin and I think after a using something for a certain length of time your body gets used to it and you find it no longer works so you then have to start again and look for another cream to soothe it. Anyway, hope she feels a bit better soon and you are all able to get a good nights sleep. Julie

I hope your little one improves soon and you try and get some rest...cos if youy become ill that will be no good...
Just been looking at your cakes again and was wondering on your fireman Sam wot paste you used and did you use anything to suport him as a standing figure

Thanks Julie and Rach.
Julie, sorry to hear you have eczema too. I've got Betnovate and other steroids for her but we just can't keep her skin clear using them. Her skin is better by morning but then gets worse during the day. I think she has a lot of food intolerances but we can't keep her on a restricted diet permanently. I'm actually wondering if the restriction of certain foods, especially when she was a baby, has hindered her development, not to mention her lack of sleep at night. She's a year behind the rest of her peers and is going to a support class next year. I just hope she catches up and can go to the same school my son does. I've just taken her to a gymnastics class and she's not ready for it. She was running around all over the place and not really joining in. She totally understands what you tell her so she's definitely 'all there'. She's also only starting to talk now and she's double jointed in her legs so can't run or walk far on her own because she ends up tripping and falling. Oh my poor little girl!! But she's always full of smiles and each separate thing will sort itself out in time.
Anyway, back to cakes!! Rach, sorry, I can't remember what size board I used for the car cake. It might have been a 14" though. For Fireman Sam I used sugarpaste and supported him with dry spaghetti. Julie, the power rangers were made with sugarpaste. I take a picture of the rangers and put it in a plastic sleeve. Then I mould the pieces on top of that and transfer them to the cake once dried.

my daughter (15 months) has quite bad eczema all over her body and we've tried all sorts of cream, steroids too and found that diprobase ointment (not the cream) works the best...i smear her in it twice a day, its quite unpleasant for a while as she is all sticky but like I say, its the only thing that works.
I think the cakes are fantastic too, you must have so much patience

Thanks Victoria!
Funny, we've tried diprobase and it doesn't do much for her. A similar ointment would be 50/50 which i find a lot nicer to spread on, although just as greasy. I just hope they grow out of it soon. How does your little girl sleep at night?

luckily she sleeps through and has done since not long after she was born, but we do have other problems, she doesn't put on weight properly, she's still in 6 - 9 months clothes at 15 months! She also has a problem with her left eye not moving properly and she has a hole in her heart, its a constant worry for me, even though she is generally fine and none of her problems bother her too much and she seems to be developing fine (mentally very forward, physically maybe a bit slow) every time she has a cold or a cough i panic and rush to the doctors, i'm sure they think i'm nuts, but I waited so long for her, she is so precious and sometimes i just don't think they understand that. I've given up work to look after her and i'm loving every minute, but sometimes feel a bit brain dead hence why i've started the cakes and plan on doing the college course in september...no-one told me children were the source of much worry and heartache!

Hi Victoria,
Can/will she have an operation to repair the hole?
I don't think you're mad going to the doctors so often. Sometimes they just aren't much help and they're only human afterall and make mistakes. How many people have been misdiagnosed or fobbed off and ended up either dying or coming close to it? I've been to so many doctors with my daughter over the last 2 years and only now has someone actually given us something that works for her scalp. And it's something that all the other doctors could and should have know about. I often think that if I knew just how much we'd worry about our children, whether I would have them or not. Not that I could even think of not having them .. I was born to be a mother. :-)
