Hi Rach, As the cake was for my daughter's 5th birthday I used one of her barbie dolls, removed the Legs cleaned & wropped cello arround bottom once in place i placed the icing bodice & filled the gaps with icing the look like a waist band & made the pink florets for added detail. This was my very first cake i decorated & the boobs was my 3rd. My husband is finishing off replastering my kitchen & once painted I will request the HSE to come & inspect my kitchen, I'm really eager to start setting up a small business from home, just need to think of a catch'y trading name etc.... cheers, mandy

Hi Mandy, I'm in the same position, well, not the kitchen being redone part! I'm also setting up and trying to think of a name. Not so easy! Your cakes look great. Shianne

hi shianne, thanks for your kind comment ref the cakes, still not sure what name to trade under though, i have been reading through the showtime section and everybody's cakes are fantastic. I am about to start back to evening class on tuesday after breaking up for xmas, think this term we are being taught how to do sugar flowers for spring, daffs, sweet peas, roses, carnations, etc.... really looking forward to it. My sister in law has asked me to do her wedding cake for 29th april, she wants two tiers & her favourite flower s are Sunflowers, should be challenging.
speak soon, mandy

ohh sunflowers, i have been learing sugar flowers froma family frined, and i love it, but sunflowers sound alot easier, not sure if you have amn idea of how to do it, but i have recently bought a daisy cutter its quite big, you could possibly use it with yellow paste to make it into sunbflowers, there a picture in show time that i have just added that got the daisys

thats a very nice cake, i think you can do the sunflowers using teh cuter just wired them instead of putting them straight onto the cake

Hi dizzy,
The instruction tell you to use an orchid petal cutter from set 19-21? & orchid petal veiner. I will have to go to the local cake shop for these cutters but will definately look at the large daist cutter, i have seen it in the shop before, might be better then cutting the petals individually. I just hope my cake will look as good as the picture!!!, also as she's family, don't yet know how much to charge her?.
Cheers, Mandy

see if Alison can get hold of them for you...she is very good......
Looks a lovely cake will it be fruit or sponge or abit of both......The stand might be harder to get hold of though with ut buying it..maybe local shop might have one to hire..At least you can get started on the flowers then do your bouquet before you even start the cake it will look fab..
