Hi all, can anyone help, I've bought the new Wilton book - Wilton Tiered Cakes, there's some really pretty cakes - some quite odd ones too mind! - anyway, I thought I''d have a go and decided to use one of the recipes (Classic White Cake) rather then my usual sponge version but I'm a bit stuck. The recipe calls for cake flour and I have absolutely no idea what cake flour is! Does anyone know what the UK equivalent is, is it plain or self raising? The recipe also includes baking powder which makes me wonder is it plain! It also states cups of flour rather than ounces, any ideas what a cup equates to? Thanks, Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
I can tell you that a cup is 250ml.
I found this out about cake flour:
'To make cake flour out of regular flour:
2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Fill rest of cup with all purpose flour and sift 12 times.'
Not sure about the sifting 12 times though!
Hope this helps.
Shianne :-)
