you can use them both dry or mix with a clear alcohol or rejuvenator spirit to use more as a liquid colour to paint with...
I use blossom tint mainly dry to dust sugar flowers with just to give a blush effect or to dust the rim of the petal to give a really natural finish..they work really well. The lustres I do abit of both on the santas castle the turrets were dusted with dry blue lustre dust you need to use quite a bit to get that color...Also use it while the paste is still very pliable so it sticks on once it drys you will only get a light colouring unles you put a coat of glidesol on first to make it stick. Also to get a good depth put the dust on a darker paste colour the darker the paste the more viabrant the colour.
On the crystal wedding cake on the maidenfern pattern down the sidesd of the cake that was lustre but mixed with spirit to get a rich solid satin look..
I hope that helps..anything else just ask

You need to have a play and see what you like I use alot of the pink shimmer and the glacier blue and the double satin colour for the weding cakes........ The girls love the pink shimmer I also finish the cakes with a sprinkle of edible glitter to give a bit of magic to the cake....
