I find it hard packaging my cakes - they're usually quite high stacked cakes and cake boxes are only really suitable for single tiers to be packed seperately. Does anyone know of anywhere that sells high cake boxes, preferably clear? It's hard to make my products look really professional when I'm delivering them in a fruit box with no cover.
I have got hold of some small acetate boxes, but they are only good for tiny cakes and the company I get them fromm doesn't do bigger. Even clear acetate tubes would be ok so long as they were wide enough (like the ones teddies get packaged in in gift shops?)
Any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks for the link - I've just had a look - the boxes are very expensive at £11 each. However they also do box 'extension corners' which I hadn't thought of and which I could easily do myself to add to exisiting boxes. So thanks for the site - it's proved useful.
Still interested in clear boxes if anyone knows of any.

Hiya go to sugarshack..they sell extensions for you boxes..like if you have a 14 inch box the extension is a sleeve which you put inside the cake and then you put the lid on that......so it lenghens your box..they are about £2 ish
I have used them for my crystal wedding cake worked really well..and that cake had to go up to London

If you are looking for a sturdy box that will fit a tall cake, go to a moving company or a UPS store and see what sizes they have. Sylvia Weinstock uses large corrugated cardboard boxes that she cuts about 2-3 inches from the bottom, places the cake in, then covers with the rest of the box like a lid.
