I've just been looking on the photo bucket and one of the cakes has been taken in just the way I want to edit my photos - I apologise for not knowing who's cake it is. It's the pink fairy castle one - somehow the person doing the photo has managed to remove the background so that the cake is in the picture but nothing behind it. I'd love to know how to do this. I have adobe photoshop but no idea how to use it - any tips much appreciated!

Oh yes I did that for Rach - it was just very quickly done so is still a bit messy. I did it in paintshop pro in the magic wand setting. It takes a little while to get right but it's worth the effort. Hope this helps

Well, I'll try that then - sounds fiddly. I think there is a way of making one colour transparent - so if your background was all black you could set all black to be seen as transparent, but I don't know how to do this!

Hi Emma - I think there is yes, when you look at some peoples photos they manage it very well.
I know when I took some photo advice (lol imagine how bad I was before!!!!!) they said always take the photo on a 1 colour backround - never have anything else going on in the picture as this will take the eye away from the subject.
If I have time later I shall go in to photobucket and have a little play again - It's amazing how long you can spend on 1 photo!
