Does anyone have any pictures at all, i'v only found one on the www so far and having seen a demonstration at the sugarcraft guild i wanted to have a go but in need of a picture to try and copy.

umm yes I do somewhere.....and wow if you can do that....its like extension work and Ali sells extension icing mix in her shop..which you would need for this job..normal royal icing wont work..
I will have a hunt later..but have got a few pics but no scanner but i could point you in the right direct..

Another way of strengthening normal royal icing is with good old gum trag or tylo.

Nauseen I've put on my pink tablecloth cake again as it was finished with drop line work. If you're doing the one on couturecakes (looks lovely), remember it's done with the cake upside down. I used to practice this with a dummy on top of a pringle tube and doing the drop lines round the outside of the dummy. Leave until set and turn up the right way. You can make fabulous tiara-type cake toppers using this technique simply by piping a second row of loops between the first ones, then a third row and so on - particularly if you make the rows with different coloured icing. Hope that makes sense. In the meantime, Orchard Products book 8 page 31 have some examples of drop line extension work - I'll try and get it scanned at work tomorrow. Marjorie Marjorie

Hi Marjorie, Many thanks, I went to see wendy somebody do a demo at the local bsg meeting, i was very intrigued, she had a book with her with lovely piccies in but there's not a lot on the web that you can look at.. Thanks for the picture, it's lovely.
