Just seen your ad on eBay and browsed across. I did an evening class in cake decorating and sugar flowers two years ago, fulfilling a long-held desire to decorate a cake properly. Enjoying it very much. Can't believe how much equipment and gadgets there are around now! With a toddler and a baby I'm not actually making many cakes (only done a dozen in my life) but hope to do a second year evening class this autumn and practice more royal icing skills. Maybe then the little ones will start to sleep better and I'll find a bit of time to do some cakes.

Hi,
I can totally sympathise! I have an almost 5 year old and a 3 year old. My little 3 year old girl has eczema and various food allergies and has only slept a full night about 3 times since she was born. I was up at 4am this morning trying to get her back to sleep. I was meant to wake up 45 mins later to finish a cake but it wouldn't have been worth going back to sleep so I've been up since then. Got a lot done on the cake though!
Glad you came to have a look at the site.
Shianne :-)

Now THAT is dedication to your art, Shianne. I did in emergency stay up until the wee small hours finishing a cake, but (tending to the babies apart) I couldn't bear to leave my cosy bed at the crack of dawn, certainly couldn't do anything constructive that early in the day.
Sorry, forgot to put my name to the initial post.........
Diane

Hi, thanks, will probably ask a few questions soon! I'm near Nottingham, and no Scots blood at all, I'm afraid, just used the set phrase of 'wee small hours'. This site is great, somebody's putting in a lot of work to run it, thank-you. Diane

I'm definitely a morning person so I'd rather go to bed a bit earlier (which is really difficult!) and get up earlier. The week before I'd only slept for 3 hours the one night and 2 the next. Not keen to do that in a hurry again!
I'm sure we'll be getting loads more newbies now with the listing on ebay. Only thing is that now I won't get anything else done because I'll always be looking to see if there are any new posts.

You're welcome. I'm just glad more people will know about it now. It seems a pity to waste such a good site.
I know, I'll have to go throught the pain of uploading them all!
My power ranger wasn't too 3D either but it get's easier with practice. I actually really liked doing the Fifi one and hope I'll get more orders for those type of cakes. They're quite quick to make.
