Hi everyone! You can use pillars on sponge cakes can't you? A lady wants a bottom tier fruit cake, and 2 sponge tiers above. Is there something I'm not thinking of because I'm sure it would be ok, reinforcing it with 4 pillars. Thanks

Don't see why not as as long as they are dowelled and a cake card on the base of the upper cakes

Not too bad thanks. I've just got to get around to ordering 100 doughnuts! I'm really enjoying this one and making the roses. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished.

Well it's not really a cake. It's a bunch of doughnuts piled up on 3 tiers. I'm having a semi circle of roses on the top and possibly some roses in between the doughnuts. Although i'm not keen on the roses in between because i'm not sure how i could secure them. Royal icing might work but i'm just worried they'll fall off.
