Thanks Alison! I cringe when I see photos of the first Thomas cake I made out of buttercream along with all my others. I didn't even know sugarpaste existed a year ago.
I often say a little thanks to you when using some of the things I'd won in your competitions. The cake tins especially have come in soooo handy and I use them all the time.
Glad to see you back anyway. :-)

Oh definitely! My only problem now is being confident about the prices I charge. It's so hard and I don't want to charge too much in case they don't place an order. But then I try and think of how many people have ordered already and they were obviously happy with the prices. I just wish there was a set amount to charge for cakes.

You could always put on your website that all cakes start from say £40 upwards depending on style and detail of the work involved in each cake..
At least then peoplpe have an idea that it will cost at least £40 if not more so prepared for the price before they contact u.....

Rach, I have been thinking about that. I'm also about to do a leaflet so might say that certain cakes are 35 upwards (I charge 35 for the dolls) etc.

I think it saves alot of bother and people will have that basic price idea in their minds before contacting you

Morning Shainne I think a flyer is an excellent idea If the prices are there in front of them it would save any embarresment. - Also good for leaving on school notice boards etc

That's right Alison. I've printed my own and post them up wherever I can but I need to get to more people now and because a lot of people don't read the magazines that get delivered (I certainly don't have the time!), a flyer might just catch their eye.
