We baked the cake itself in a greaseproff paper lined red clay plant pot, that gave it the basic dalek shape. Put a 2nd dome carved layer on top of that to make it tall enough. From there we covered it in a wide red strip of fondant icing around the bottom, a black band of fondant icing near the top and a cap of the original red fondant on top. Everything else is details, cutting little strips and fixing them in place and painting them gold or silver with edible colourings. The arms and antenna on top were made of kebab skewers & a toothpick cut to size and painted with edible colouring.

This was done on a 14" inch drum cakeboard, the body of the piano was cut from a 12" square rich fruit cake. It took 40 hours to do. Hope you all like!
