Okay everyone Need abit of input here ...I am doing a 3 tier stacked cake and I cant decide what size to do the square cakes... when I have done round I have done them going 10,8,6,4 and that looks nice but usually its suppose to be 3inch difference..I do this if its just a two tier one but not more... Wondering with a square cake if I should go with 2 or 3 inch difference as its a 3 tier..also should I go 10,8and 6 or 9,6 and 3 or something else... Please help me decide ;D ;D Its going to be stacked and then with a crystal topper...help...got 2 of these to do within a week of each other

i generally do 12, 9 and 6 for the wedding cakes, but suppose it depends on how many portions they need and whether or not you are putting any decoration around the base of each of the tiers, if not then i think the 2" difference would be okay...

its for a birthday cake ...so nothing too elaborate around it ...she wants lilac so I was thinking about doing darker going to lighter lilacs on the cake with various details on each one and bows etc on the corners all in shimmery lilacs with a crystal topper..well hoping to do that anyway...how does that sound

Sounds lovely, Ive never done anything stacked but I would go for the 2" difference to get more height, It would maybe look flatter if you go for the 3, the darker to lighter sounds good too
