Ok please need abit of input please ;D
I am doing my friends 40th birthday cake and like the last one I did the jade and crystal cake I am going to do this one with red accents.
She is wearing a bright red dress so thought I woul tie the cake into that...Now the question..
I thought to give more depth at the bottom of the cake I would double board it with a 16inch then a 14 inch round board....
Now the cake will be white shimmer as per the jade cake with red hearts and clear amd red topper...With red ribbon round cake one.
Now with the boards do yuou think I should do the boards both red with red ribbon or red boards with whitey ribbon or a mixture or white borads with just the red ribbon.
Would love anyone thoughts on it...
Thanks

hi rach i think it would look better with white boards and the contrasting red ribbons and crystals and hearts i think the decoration would have more show against the white and stand out more.otherwise you might loose some of its impact against the red board.(just my opinion though) im sure it will be lovely both ways or perhaps you could do the boards one of each a white and a red.having the upper board white and then you still have some contrasting colour but not as in your face im i helping or just confusing you more lol? julie

This is probably going ot add to the confusion, but I think both boards red with white ribbon, or possibly top board red and bottom white, would work. Not as heavy as having it all red, it might balance the delicate jewels in the topper if the boards are a mixture of the two colours .
