Good evening all. I was asked earlier on today if I would make a cake by one of my customers. I explained I don't have the time any more but that I have friends who might be able to help her. The cake she is wanting is a mini - car If anyone fancies the job please let me know and I shall pass the details on to her. Obviously she is happy to have the cake delivered via courier.

Hi Alison,
Sounds interesting! If Rach doesn't want to have a go, perhaps I could? My only concern is packaging and whether it could withstand the journey.

Hey feel free......it all depends where she is for if its far away the coutier would charge a fortune and it would be cheaper just to get someone local to do it..but you never know she might be local to someone on here....the best pricing i have found for couriering is about £20.00 but b the time you add that onto the price of the cake it does make it very expensive....

OOh Rach - I don't know if you use a courier that much but I know of someone a lot cheaper than that! - I use the 9.99 parcelforce for my ebay shop.

Yep you are right but parcelforce for a cake is more expensive I think about 12.95, then you have to package and box up securely.....so in all it works out to be around that price..the boxing is quite expensive specially if you double box it....

I haven't a clue to be honest Rach - she emailed me the other day asking if I would make it for you. I said no as I don't have the time but I know a few people who might!
Do you want me to pass on your email addy to her?

I'm interested in the couriering of cakes as I've not managed to find anyone who does it. You say you use parcelforce - I'm going to be dim, but do they keep ti the right way up etc. HOw does it work? Do you have to take it somewhere? Love to know!

I spoke to parcelforce they do deliver cakes..but their line is once they take it they will not be responsible for any damage incurred.....so it is at your own risk......I think another company called post a van (I think thats right) they do deliver cakes for someone off ebay but again it is at your own risk..but the girl said so far they havent had any probs..
Hope that helps
