£40 for a limousine cake? You have way undercharged here. I would charge £40 for an 8" round iced cake. Maybe you could look on it as a learning experience and make it just for the challenge. I once made a whole three tiered dummy cake as the bride changed her mind about the cake she wanted and I wanted to do the first design so much that I decided to make it anyway! The problem with it being an actual order is that of course the cake has to go to the client at the end, so ithas to be an experience that turns out ok! Good luck Julie, I really hope this works out - we'll be here to help you when making it!

Julie how could you my poor darling? Just the amount of raw materials probably cost you that much isnt? I charge 40 for my dools cake and there are not very difficult to do!! No way they'll have to pay more!! Can't you call into a local bakery of theirs and get a quote that ay you can tell then how much it'll cost then to do it with that bakery and also get a sort of price for you to play with!! good luck my darling!!

Thanks all for your advice and support with the limo cake, I was to chicken to ask for more money but explained to the lady it was going to be more difficult then I expected and was unable to do it. To be honest I feel as if a weight as been lifted off my shoulders, although I hate letting people down.

I definitely think you've done the right thing. I'd be nervous about taking on something like that. At least you were honest and you can sleep better at night knowing you don't have to do it!
